Nurture. Support. Educate.

Decades of Exceptional Care

Helping children and families thrive since 1913, The Infant Welfare Society serves Evanston, Skokie, Morton Grove and its surrounding communities by providing programs that nurture, support, and educate the whole family. Our mission is to deliver exceptional care and education for infants and young children while supporting families’ efforts to be effective parents and advocates in their child’s learning and development.

Helping Children Thrive

IWSE offers social-emotional, cognitive and behavioral early childhood education in classroom and home based environments. Our staff provide evidence based curriculum and support that help prepare children for success.

Nurturing Learning Experiences

IWSE provides high-quality full-day child care, early education, home visiting and family support services for infants and toddlers. We provide resources and support for parents and care-givers through our various programs and services.

Your Support Matters

We established the Parent & Teacher Emergency Fund that will enable IWSE to provide temporary financial assistance to our parents, staff and teachers during the COVID-19 closures. We appreciate your support.

First 1,100 Days

The first three years impact the rest of a child’s life. Brain synapses are being created at a rate of one million per second. IWSE provides programs to nurture, support, and educate children during this key phase of development.

The early years matter. Early experiences affect the development of brain architecture, which provides the foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health. New research finds that over one million neural connections per second are formed during the early years.
